Administrative Charges Faces By 11 Police Officials Involved O Violent Dispersal Near The U.S Embassy
11 police officials involved in the violent dispersal near the U.S Embassy last October 2016 are now facing administrative charges.
Philippine National Internal Affairs Service filed an administrative charge against the 11 police officials involved in the violent dispersal of the protesters near the U.S Embassy last year. Some of the protesters were wounded and injured due to the incident.
Most of the protesters were complaining to the driver of the patrol car that was identified as PO3 Franklin Kho, who rammed the protesters. Kho is now facing a case of grave misconduct for his irresponsible action.
A case of simple misconduct also charged to PO1 Fernando Budong, who wields a replica of a gun during the dispersal. While negligence of duty was filed against Civil Disturbance Management ground commander Supt. Albert Barot and overall supervisor Senior Supt. Marcelino Pedrozo.
Chief Inspectors Roberto Miranda, Elmer Aceo,Dionelle Brannon, Joebi Astucia and Roberto Manguna were also facing corresponding charges. Senior Inspectors Edgardo Orongan and Arnold Lising are the other officials involved in the violent dispersal.
PO1 Hermit Caligagan, PO1 Anthony Amores, and PO1 Mark John Millares were the recent policemen being investigated. The sanctions against the erring policemen were questioned by lawmakers from militant Makabayan bloc for being too light.
The accused police officials were not facing a suspension because the investigation was still going on, according to Constantinopla. The police officials can be only relieved or transferred to another office.
