LACIERDA – Atty. Edwin Lacierda described Vice Pres. Leni Robredo as a woman, a lawyer, and a public servant. He noted that people who know her will not doubt her character.
Recently, the social media has been filled with issues involving the name of Vice Pres. Robredo. Last month, Atty. Bruce Rivera’s post about the Vice President went viral on the online platform.
In the post, Atty. Rivera pointed out the location where Vice Pres. Robredo is allegedly waiting for a bus that is bound for Bicol. Reportedly, the Vice President has been known for commuting.
Based on a previous news report, the lawyer stressed in his post that the location is at the Expressway. He stated a question on his post if there is a provincial bus that stops at the said location.
The post has gone viral on the social media and lots of netizens have even expressed their commentaries on the post. Recently, one lawyer, Atty. Edwin Lacierda, wrote an article describing the Vice President.
In an opinion article posted in Newsgearph.Com, the article written by the lawyer is entitled ‘Edwin Lacierda: I am pretty sure Leni will not deign to describe herself a ‘heroine’.
In the introduction part of the article, the lawyer cited a definition of the word ‘hero’ by the Cambridge Dictionary. A hero is ‘a person admired for bravery, great achievements or good qualities’ based in the said dictionary as stated in the article.
The lawyer then stated that the Vice President as a lawyer has helped people who have no ‘means to defend themselves’. He even regarded the idea as ‘basic’.
Atty. Lacierda also noted that the citizenry has witnessed the ‘fortitude’ of the Vice President during the time when she was faced with the possibility that the late former Department of Interior and Local Government Sec. Jesse Robredo whom she has three kids with is no longer alive.
“She introduced bills that, among others, seek to empower the marginalized, advocated freedom of information, fought discrimination,” the lawyer described Vice Pres. Robredo as a congresswoman.
Furthermore, Atty. Lacierda stated that Vice Pres. Robredo has continued to be the voice of the ‘marginalized sector’ despite that she is not anymore part of the Cabinet.
“I am pretty sure Leni will not deign to describe herself a heroine but people who have worked with her, experienced her selflessness and her being a woman for others will harbor no doubts about her character and her qualities,” Atty. Lacierda stated.
The lawyer ended his lengthy description of the Vice President by stating that ‘only a person who loves toothpick will nitpick’.
