Filipina Grandma Stood-out Among 14 Candidates And Wins As Mrs. Grandma Universe 2017

The 51-year-old Filipina Agnes Jakosalem won as Mrs. Grandma Universe 2017 last January 22, 2017, which was held in Sofia, Bulgaria.

Most Filipinos were still sad regarding the loss of the Philippine representative Maxine Medina in the Miss Universe 2017. Maxine successfully made it to the Top 6 of the international beauty pageant but she did not make it to the Top 3.

There are some Filipinos who criticize Maxine for the results of the beauty contest but most of our countrymen still expressed their support to Miss Philippines.

But Filipinos have another reason to rejoice despite Maxine’s loss, the victory of another Filipina who won the title as Mrs. Grandma Universe 2017 gives another honor and achievement to the country.

Agnes Jakosalem, a 51-year-old Filipina who had three children and one grandchild won the Mrs. Grandma Universe 2017 in Sofia, Bulgaria. This international beauty pageant was designed to grandmothers, which requires at least one grandchild. In contrast to Miss Universe, which requires the candidates to be single.

Jakosalem had still no experience on beauty pageants before she joined the Mrs. Grandma Universe, but her confidence and pride of being a Filipino were her keys in winning the crown of the beauty contest. She overwhelmed the 14 other grandmothers from different countries around the world.

Jakosalem was defined as the most beautiful grandma in the universe upon winning the title. She was also the first Pinay to win the Mrs. Grandma Universe. Her achievement only proves that Filipina has a natural beauty, which can compete on international beauties.
