HAILEE – 20-year-old Filipino-American actress Hailee Steinfield was nominated at the 74th Annual Golden Globe Awards nominations. The event happened at the Beverly Clinton Hotel.
Recently, the 74th Annual Gloden Globe Awards nomination has included the daughter of Peter Steinfield and Fil-Am Cheri Domasin Steinfield on the list according to a recent news report in Manila Bulletin.
Based on the report, Lorenzo Saria, the President of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA), Barry Edelman, Television at Dick Clark Productions’ Executive Vice-President, and the Stallone sisters Scarlet, Sophia, and Sistine were present during the event.
The Fil-Am actress has been nominated for the role she had played in ‘The Edge of Seventeen’. In the comedy film, she played the role of Nadine Franklin, a high schooler. Her character in the film is at her 17th year.
According to the report, the Fil-Am actress shared that she was not able to experience ‘a traditional high school experience’. She also emphasized that if ever she had, it would be closely the same with her film character’s experience.
Steinfield described ‘The Edge of Seventeen’ as not a high school film but a film about the feelings of the teenagers nowadays and it is trying to look for the answers to so many queries.
On the other side, unfortunately, the two Philippine films, ‘Ma Rosa’ by Brillante Mendoza and ‘The Woman Who Left’ by Lav Diaz did not make it to Best Motion Picture – Foreign Language Category.
