The war against illegal drugs is undeniably at its maximum. Pres. Rodrigo ‘Digong’ Duterte has always been very vocal on how much he hates illegal drugs. During the campaign election, he even vowed to clean the Philippines from illegal in three to six months.

After he assumed the post through a landslide victory in the 2016 presidential election, the 71-year-old former Mayor of Davao City started his campaign against illegal drugs.

His warnings were always packed with determined words. In fact, many drug users and pushers have already surrendered to the police authorities and the government, in return, tries its best to provide them with their needs in reformation.

The 71-year-old President has shown the people several times compilations of those who are allegedly involved in drugs. The sheets were really thick, however, based on a previous news report, Pres. Duterte is determined not to step back from his campaign against illegal drugs.

In a recent news report in Inquirer, it is stated that the sons of the suspected drug personality Melvin Odicta Sr. were nabbed by the police authorities and the PDEA personnel in a drug raid at their house at Barangay Malipayon, Iloilo City.

Based on the report, firearms and suspected illegal drugs were found by the raiding team which led to the arrest of the Odicta brothers – Daryl, Melvin Jr., and Michael. The lawyer of the family, Marbehn Lombo, was also nabbed for trying to stop the authorities armed with a search warrant to arrest the Odicta brothers.

On the other side, the lawyer put down the accusation and told the media men and women that the family has been cooperative with the authorities.

The assistant regional director of PDEA in Western Visayas, Levi Ortiz, expressed that the Odicta brothers and their lawyer would be facing charges while the helpers of the house and the guards would be set free.

“Based on our investigation and surveillance operations, the Odicta group is still the biggest supplier of illegal drugs in Western Visayas,” Ortiz also added.
