Sass Sasot reacted on the statement of PCIJ over Pres. Duterte’s SOCE.
Sass Sasot reacted on the statement of Philippine Center for Investigative Journalism that the description of the Duterte team on the victory of Pres. Rodrigo Duterte is far from what is shown in his Statement of Contributions and Expenditures (SOCE).
Pres. Duterte’s victory in the presidential election 2016 is undeniably one of the greatest marks in the history of the Philippines. He was put to office by a landslide victory.
Even before the candidates have filed their certificates of candidacy and the election campaign has begun, a big part of the populace wanted the then mayor of Davao City to run for the presidential post.
Pres. Duterte’s affirmation that he will run for the Philippine presidency undeniably made his supporters happy and hopeful to his promise of ‘change’. The Duterte team has described the victory of Pres. Duterte as brought by the m(–foul word(s) removed–) of ordinary citizens.
However, on a previous news report, it is stated that there were big donors behind the election campaign of the then Mayor of Davao City. The report even stated that more than P334-million of the total campaign fund came from the top 13 donors of the President.
Recently, a post in social media went viral as Sass Sasot reacted over the matter. In her post, Sasot entailed a PCIJ line which states: “No doubt, this is far from how Duterte and his followers had described his campaign team: That the m(–foul word(s) removed–) who could afford to donate only “Emilio Aguinaldo” money or five-peso coins would be the ones sending him to Malacañang.”
It is followed by the message of Sasot to the PCIJ saying that the number of people who have willfully spent their personal money and weren’t able to hand-in directly their monetary support for Pres. Duterte is much greater in number.
She also asked the PCIJ not to erase the stories of those who willfully helped for the campaign of the President. Sasot encouraged the people who have personally contributed for the Duterte campaign to share about their contribution on the commentary of the post.

[By the way what do they want that even the old sack in which the name of Duterte has been written will be included in the list as it is the only thing can be afforded by the poor people who hope that the country will be changed?]
