De Lima Expects Ombudsman Probe Can Clear Her Name From Drug Trade

The Office of the Ombudsman has obtained some “leads” on allegations of the involvement of Senator De Lima to the illegal drug trade at NBP.

Senator Leila de Lima is expecting that the probe by the Office of the Ombudsman into her involvement in the illegal drug trade will clear her name from the accusations.

The lady solon is also expecting a fair and impartial investigation by the office, led by Ombudsman Conchita Carpio Morales, who said on Friday that there is an on-going fact-finding investigation on De Lima.

The investigation was launched after the Office of the Ombudsman obtained some “leads” , specifically on the allegations that Senator De Lima amassed money from suspected bigtime drug lord from Eastern Visayas, Rolan “Kerwin” Espinosa Jr.

According to Senator De Lima, she had already expected the decision of the Ombudsman to conduct an investigation on the various allegations concerning the illegal drug trade.

These allegations, according to De Lima, include those attempts that link her to the trade “in the most absurd contexts”.
