Nationwide Protests Declaring Marcos Is Not A Hero Is Set On Friday (November 25, 2016)

On Friday (November 25, 2016), will be the nationwide protests against Marcos’s burial at the “Libingan ng mga Bayani” including Rizal Park reburial.

The groups opposing Marcos hero’s burial will have their protests this coming Friday reversing the judgment on the late dictator and to hold President Duterte accountable. Also, on Friday is the day when Duterte is expected to arrive in the country from attending the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit in Peru.

The protesters will conduct their campaign against the return of Marcoses in the Palace or CARMMA. Martial law victims and human rights groups count the abuses committed by the late dictator. The rally will be held at Luneta at 4 pm. Throughout the week, regional mass action will be also undertaken even ahead of November 25, 2016, protests.

Also, on Monday (November 21, 2016), an activist group in Bicol Region conduct rallies against Marcos burial, end military counterinsurgency operation, the release of political prisoners, and peace talks between communist rebels and the government.
