Employment Opportunities In The Philippines Up By 12 Percent – DOLE

Despite an increase in the employment opportunities, the DOLE assures job creation is still their top priority.

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) announced that there is a slight increase in the employment opportunities in the Philippines.

DOLE Secretary Silvestre Bello III bragged that there is an increase of 12 percent on the new employment opportunities that is benefiting the labor sector now.

“What I can tell you is that in the Department of Labor, we have generated new employment opportunities… it is increased by about 12 percent”, said Sec. Bello.

Aside from creation of additional jobs, Bello said that DOLE is also concerned with addressing the problem on illegal contractualization work scheme and increasing the minimum wage of workers in response to the claim of the Employer’s Confederation of the Philippines (ECOP) that the government has not been focusing on job creation.
