New Standardized Shot Clock System Will Be Implemented In The NBA

The NBA announced that in the beginning of the 2016-2017 season the NBA will adopt a new Shot Clock System and it never looked better than this. Developed by well-known watch maker Tissot, the official time keeper of the league.

The system aims to help league official to become more definitive in evaluating crucial calls. The new system is all cable free and transparent when in use in order for the fans at the back of the shot clock to have a clearer view of the live action.

The new system will integrate the 24 second shot clock, timeouts, and game clock into a single piece of hardware and features such as firmware updates is available. Innovative LED technology will be used in the system. Features such as firmware updates is one of the improvements.

The NBA plans to debut its new technology during summer league action before it will be deploy in the all of the 29 arenas for the next NBA season. “TISSOT’s expertise and groundbreaking timing system developed exclusively for the NBA will provide us with the most sophisticated shot clock the league has ever had, enhancing our game on the court and providing a sharper viewing experience for fans,” Michael Gliedman, NBA Senior Vice President & Chief Information Officer of Information Technology, said in a league press release.
