Watch: Mayor Duterte “Reaffirm” His Candidacy for President 2016 (Videos)

The tough-talking Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte visited the Commission on Election (Comelec) main office in Manila on Tuesday, December 8, 2015, to “reaffirm” his candidacy for President in the year 2016. The supporters and followers of Mayor Duterte gathered around the vicinity of the Comelec office to show their support to Mayor Duterte.

During the interview with Mayor Duterte he was quoted as saying “Marami kasing tanong, maraming isyu na lumalabas. Ako naman siguro, once and for all, pupunta ako sa Comelec. Tanungin ko lang sila kung okay ba ang papeles ko, dokumento ko. ‘Pag hindi, sabi ko, e ‘di i-DQ (disqualify) ‘nyo na lang ako kung hindi sang-ayon sa procedure,” Duterte said.

According to the plan of Duterte’s camp, Mayor Duterte personally went to the Comelec to file his certificate of candidacy (COC) to correct possible defects in the one he submitted through a representative on November 27, 2015.

However, the Comelec Law Department, told Mayor Duterte’s camp that there’s no defect in the COC he filed in November, so the mayor just “reaffirmed” his COC.

After reaffirming Mayor Duterte’s COC at the Comelec, the mayor said that his fate is now “up to God.” Mayor Duterte also added further that he would’nt mind Comelec disqualifying him if its decision in based on a “legal reason,” because he will not lose sleep and won’t die if he don’t become a president.
