Filipino-Australian Cyrus Villanueva Moved on to Top 6 of “The X Factor Australia”

The Filipino-Australian singer Cyrus Villanueva moved on to the next round of the competition, “The X Factor Australia,” as he stole the show during the Monday’s episode of Australia’s most popular singing competition.

Cyrus Villanueva performed a stunning cover of Adele’s “Rumor Has It,” and was voted as one of the Top 6 finalist in the singing competition which features some of the most promising singers in Australia.

The 19-year-old Cyrus Villanueva will be moving on to the next round of the competition alongside some of the show’s favorite namely Big T (Tangaroa Te Tai), Louise Adams, singing duo Jess & Matt, Natalie Conway and Mahalia Simpson.

During the announcement of the Top 6, the X Factor Austraila revealed that Michaela Baranov was eliminated from the competition after she struggled with her performance of Rihanna’s “Diamonds.

Before the announcement that the Fil-Aussie move on to the next round, Cyrus Villaueva earned the praises of the judges including Guy Sebastian who told him: “We want to feel like we’re watching a superstar. And you owned it, that was a massive comeback.”

Cyrus Villanueva’s mentor, American singer Chris Isaak, turned emotional after the performance, while singer James Blunt compared the Filipino-Australian to pop star Justin Beiber.
