The Philippine national football team, Philippine Azkals released the official 23-man line-up of the team who will go up against powerhouse Uzbekistan in the World Cup Qualifying match this coming September 8, 2015 hosted by the country at the Philippine Sports Stadium in Bulacan.
Veteran Azkals goalkeeper Roland Muller and midfielder Paul Mulders will make their return to the national team while young goalkeeper Jun Baledic gets his first senior call-up.
The Fil-German goalkeeper, Roland Muller who is currently playing in the Swiss League will compete with Fil-British Neil Etheridge for the starting spot as the Azkals seeks their third successive win in the qualifying tournament of the World Cup.
The Azkals is currently in the second spot on goal difference in Group H qualifying behind North Korea after wins over Bahrain (2-1) and Yemen (2-0) last June.
Before the highly anticipated match up against Uzbekistan, the Philippine Azkals plays the Maldives in a friendly match on September 3, 2015.
According to FIFA’s rules, the top team in the group will move on to the final round of qualifying and also clinch a berth in the 2019 AFC Asian Cup which will be held in the United Arab Emirates.
