Following his resignation from the cabinet, VP Jejomar Binay called on Wednesday the Aquino government “callous and a failure”, now it is time for the president to hit back.
President Benigno Aquino III earlier strike back to how Binay openly attacked his administration after supposedly being treated well for the past five years.
“Paano ko ba siya tinrato na mali? Tapos ito ang sinukli niya? Thank you na lang sa kanya,” Aquino said saying he never made Binay feel like he was just a “spare tire.”
Aquino said, despite their political fence, he never denied the Vice President the opportunity to showcase his skills as a public official.
“Hindi natin siya pinigilan na magkaroon ng pagkakataon na ma-recognize ang kanyang trabaho,” he said.
He pointed that Binay started attacking his administration after realizing he will not get the President’s endorsement for the 2016 polls.
Regarding Binay’s accusations, the president said he and his cabinet officials will answer it all soon.
Asked about Binay’s recent resignation, Aquino said he was surprised saying he immediately reached out to Binay to clarify why he wanted to resign.
He said Binay will write to him about the reasons why he quit.
Binay also accused the administration of advocating selective justice.
