One one of the most advanced cinema in the country, the Ayala Cinema 5 in Cebu City collapsed during an event, inuring at least six people. The cinema was located at the annex of the Ayala Center in Cebu City, the incident was captured on camera and posted on various social media sites.
According to some media reports, about 300 people were in the theater for a corporate event sponsored by an international company. The management of Ayala is still in the process of gathering details about the incident.
Sun Star Cebu reported that the incident happened at around 8:30 PM on Monday evening, the incident happened during an event conducted by a business process outsourcing company, Dreamscape Networks.
According to one of those who was present during the incident, the moviegoers were leaving the cinema in a calm and orderly fashion, when water poured from a portion of the ceiling but an unexpected incident happened, a portion of the ceiling collapsed.
Those who were injured during the incident sustained cuts and various injuries according to lawyer Jeanette Japson of Cebu Holdings Inc., corporate communications manager.
