Filipino athlete Caleb Stuart won another gold medal for the Philippines bringing the country’s total gold medal haul to eight and set a new Southeast Asian Games record in Men’s Hammer Throw on Tuesday, June 9, 2015. Caleb Stuart broke the SEA Games records, registering 65.63 meters.
Coming in second place and winner of the silver medal is Thailand’s Tantipong Phetchaiya with 62.23 meters while Malaysia’s Jackie Won was awarded with a bronze medal for his 61.18 meters threw.
Another Filipino athlete almost made a podium finish, veteran Arniel Ferrera came in fourth place with 60.08 meters. The Philippine delegation to the 2015 SEA Games already registered a total of 8 gold medals in the biennial meet.
Caleb Stuart joins the like of the Philippine Volcanoes, Daniel Paratac, Nikko Huelgas, Carlo Biado & Warren Kiamco, Kiyomi Watanabe, Clair Adorna, and Elvie Baldivino as the country’s gold medalist in the 2015 SEA Games hosted by Singapore.
