Behind the failure of the Cavs to win the Game 1 of the NBA finals, they are challenged by another bad news following colleague Kyrie Irving’s left knee injury.

Irving fall to the floor after he slipped and bumped his knees with Klay Thompson during the heated overtime session.

After the time-out, Irving headed into the room again, now clearly in pain as he walked limping. Worried about his knee, Irving disappointedly voiced out after the game. “I don’t know what I felt, but obviously, it didn’t feel right. It was a little bit different than what I had been experiencing in the Chicago series or anything like that. It was just a quick pinch and I could still feel what was going on in my knee and this time… This time, I knew… it was a little bit different than the other times.”, Irving said.

Following an MRI on Friday afternoon, Irving has a fractured left kneecap which calls for his immediate surgery.

Meanwhile, LeBron James admitted that it was tough to see Irving like this.

“It was very tough to see. I just see how hard he worked these last eight days just to get himself in position ready to play at this level tonight. Seeing him walk out of the locker room on crutches just now, that’s a tough blow for our team.”, he said.

With heads up to clinch the standing in the Game 2 of the finals, Matthew Dellavedova will be manning the point guard for the Cavs.
