In the heated game between San Miguel Beermen and Star Hotshots on Sunday night, forward Arwind Santos felt he didn’t deserve to get thrown out for repeatedly swinging his elbows after a rebound play in the fourth quarter.
Picking up his second technical foul with remaining 9:34, Santos got ejected for what he said was an attempt to draw the ire of Marqus Blakely, Hotshots import, whom he beat for the rebound.
Santos also cleared he had no “intentions” of hurting Blakely even though he kept swaying his elbows while battling for the ball.
In an interview, Santos told reporters that there is nothing wrong with a little teasing or taunting.
Star head coach Time Cone confronted him near the Hotshots’ bench following his actions.
However, Santos refrained himself from answering back adding that he still respects the two-time Grand Slam champion coach.
