Bagyong Dodong devastates Northeastern portion of the Philippins leaving two people dead and more than 3,000 residents evacuated as the typhoon brought heavy rains and strong winds that flattened some houses on coastal areas. Although the typhoon weakened slight after hitting land, but its effect was clearly seen in the areas affected.

Bagyong Dodong slightly weakened with wnds of 160 kph (99 mph) near the center and gusts of up to 195 kph (121 mph) as of Monday, it is expected to move north at 19 kph and head to southern Japan by Tuesday, PAGASA noted.

Before the typhoon made a landfall on Sunday, the British-based Tropical Storm Risk downgraded typhoon Noul (Bagyong Dodong) from category five to category four typhoon.

The fourth typhoon to hit the country, Bagyong Dodng made landfall on Sunday in the rice and corn-producing province of Cagayan about 400 km north of Manila, toppling trees and cutting power in wide areas of the province. Bagyong Dodong is now hovering 185 km north of the town of Aparri in Cagayan.

The national disaster agency of the Philippines reported that two men died from electrocution as they were strapping down a tin roof on a house during the height of the typhoon in Aparri. A total of 3,400 residents from Cagayan and Isabela provinces were moved to evacuation centers in schools.
