Bagyong Luis Exits Philippines Storm Signals Updates (September 15)

The Philippine weather bureau, PAGASA noted that the weather disturbance, Bagyong Luis that batters Northern Luzon is expected to leave the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) before noon Monday. Although the Tropical Storm will left the county, PAGASA still issued storm warning signals in various areas of northern Luzon.

According to PAGASA, Bagyong Luis has left a trail of destruction in Northern Luzon, the current location of the tropical storm was at 100 kilometers west northwest of Laoag City, Ilocos Norte, over the West Philippine Sea, based upon the 5:00 AM weather bulletin issued by the weather bureau.

For the record, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) noted that 3,045 people fled their homes in Isabela, Cagayan, Aurora, Apayao, Mt. Province, Benguet, Kalinga, and the areas within Metro Manila. Bagyong Luis made a landfall at Isabela and Cagayan, residents of those areas were badly hit by the tropical storm.

The NDRRMC also noted that a total of three (3) people died due to Bagyong Luis, they were all passengers of RORO vessel MV Maharlika 2, which sank off Southern Leyte last Saturday.

Aside from the reported casualties of Bagyong Luis, the NDRRMC also reported that as of Monday morning, the Nueva Ecija-Pangasinan Road and Mt. Province – Ilocos Sur Road via Tue remained impassable to all vehicles.
