Metring Cuevas a former rice farmer in the town of Batangas is now a millionaire. He dreamed of having his own bakery from the time that he was just a “pandesal” vendor. He is helping his brother to run a bakery shop by which he is the one that sells the bread. His story was featured in “My Puhunan” episode in ABS-CBN.
He is doing it from his childhood by which he roams around the streets of Manila just to sell bread. Because of it, he did not able to learn lessons in the classroom.
His wife is also a “pandesal” vendor he have met along the way.
He started his dream business with just one oven and a borrowed flour from his brother and a loan that would serve as his capital. Since then, his first bakery in Leon Guinto was opened. He took the risk just to make his dreams come true. Fortunately, his risks was never wasted. Large number of customers went in his bakery to buy bread.
According to him, it was because they are really doing their best just to produce the best bread to their customers. After a while, he had opened his second bakery.
It was opened in Pedro Gil that serves as a signal of many expansions of Cuevas Bakery in the country.
At this moment, the said bakery already have 28 branches in the country. It is actually earning millions of pesos per year. The said bakeshop is known for it’s cakes, cookies, special desserts and its freshly baked bread.
Cuevas also said that his success did not come up as a chance. It is a result of a consistent hard work he have done along the years.
He is now 73 years old and still being hands on on baking. Somehow, he is already starting to pass what he have learned to his children.
Above all, he is more particular on putting all his children in school and providing them a better living.
