NLEX Seeks PBA Membership, Finally Submits Letter of Intent

After Blackwater Sports and Kia Motors, it’s now time for NLEX to submit a letter of intent to build an expansion team in the PBA on Wednesday. The development was confirmed by NLEX team manager Ronald Dulatre on Spin.ph although many are already expecting this to happen sooner or later.

“It has been submitted. Yes, we want to elevate the level of this team. Everybody knows naman how successful our run in the D-League is. So I guess, it’s time for us to move up and join the prime league in the country … that’s the PBA,” said Dulatre, who supported the Road warriors throughout their fruitful four-year stay in the amateur ranks. NLEX Road Warriors, which never failed in fielding talented players for the team, have won five championships in the six conferences of the developmental league capped by their recent title-conquest of the Foundation Cup last February 27.

The Road Warriors currently have in their roster some of the marquee amateur players namely, GarvoLanete, Jake Pascual, Ronald Pascual, Kevin Alas and Matt Ganuelas that they could bring in the pro level if given a chance of direct-hire privilege.

NLEX, which might just be the third Manny Pangilinan-controlled squad in the pro league, is one of the three companies that had just signified their intention to join the 39-year league in its 2015 season.

As of now, the applications of Blackwater and KIA Motors are the under discussion of the league board.

If all the interested parties have been given green light on April, the PBA might just find itself having 13 participating teams in the 2015 season.
