June Mar Fajardo Awarded Best Player of the Conference

PBA sophomore and former Number One draft pick, June Mar Fajardo was awarded with the Best Player of the Conference in the 2013-2014 PLDT Home DSL PBA Philippine Cup.

The 24-year-old June Mar Fajardo defeated fellow Petron Blaze star player Arwind Santos for the much-coveted award which is considered as one of the important factor for a player to secure an edge in the season’s MVP award.

The 6-foot-11 Cebuano slotman outscored Arwind Santos, Brgy. Ginebra’s high-flying star player Japeth Aguilar and prized rookie Greg Slaughter, aside from GlobalPort Batang Pier forward Jay Washington for the Best Player of the Conference distinction.

June Mar Fajardo received the Best Player of the Conference award before the start of the Game Four Finals between San Mig Coffee Mixers and the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters wherein the Mixers leading with 2-1 advantage.

The Gilas Pilipinas mainstay who was also instrumental in the Philippines historic silver-medal finish in the Asian Basketball Championship held last 2013 in Manila led the league with 38.77 statistical points (SPs).

June Mar Fajardo is also the leader in player efficiency (43.55 EFF) aside from his average of 16.4 PPG and 14.9 RPG in 18 games played, finishing with a double-double production in all but two games in this conference.

The player’s statistical points accounts for 40% of the total score while media votes is 30% , player votes is 25% added with 5% from the Commissioner’s Office.
