Shaun White Failed to Win Medals in Sochi Olympics 2014

Legendary Olympic champion Shaun White failed to win medals in the 2014 Sochi Olympics in Russia after he failed on his latest bid ending his reign as an Olympic champion dating back the year 2006.

Shaun White finished fourth in the men’s halfpipe competition on Tuesday night at Rosa Khutor Extreme Park, the game was dominated by gold medalist Iouri Podladtchikov of Switzerland. The Swiss made a remarkable tricks in snowboarding which he called as YOLO receiving a final score of 94.75.

The American snowboarding champion Shaun White hopes to land two gold medals in the competition but she failed and finished fourth instead, although he is known to have an arsenal of tricks on his name.

During the final run of White, it was uncharacteristically sloppy according to snowboarding enthusiasts. He made a run without a complete fall but with multiple bobbles wherein he received a score of 90.5, a slight improvement with his first run in which he fell twice, only good for fourth place in the Winter Olympics.

The 27-year-old American snowboarder and skateboarder is best known as the record-holder of the X-Games for gold medals and highest overall medal count aside from winning a total of 10 ESPY Awards.

Shaun White had been trying to become the first American to win the same winter event in three consecutive Winter Games but he failed to win in this year’s Sochi Olympics.

 Aside from the Swiss Champion in Sochi, the Japanese riders Ayumu Hirano, the youngest rider in the competition won the silver medal at the age of 15 while compatriot and fellow Japanese Takao Hiraoka won the silver and bronze medals in the Snowboard Men’s Halfpipe competition.
