Arizona Reid Leads Rain or Shine Victory Over San Mig Coffee 79-75

The triumphant return of Arizon Reid’s to his former team Rain or Shine, the depending champion of the PBA Governor’s Cup, he debuted with a sweet victory over San Mig Coffee during the opening of the season-ending PBA Season.

The Rain or Shine matchup with San Mig Coffee ended with the Elasto Painters securing their first win of the Governor’s Cup at the Mall of Asia Arena with the final score at 79-75.

The former Best Import showed his cl(–foul word(s) removed–) on his first game with Rain or Shine as he scored with 28 points and 20 rebounds. The Elasto Painters was leading with 9 points in the third period, 50-41, when San Mig Coffee import woke up his team with monstrous follow-up slam dunk. The Mixers made an impressive run in the third quarter with a 20-8 run and they even took the lead after Blakely hit a huge three-pointer with the score at 61-58.

San Mig Coffee continued to score points making their lead up to 9 points at, 69-60 but Rain or Shine came back through the leadership of Reid. The Elasto Painters scored the next eight points to come within a point, 69-68. A three-pointer by bulky big man Beau Belga levelled the score at 73-all.

The Elasto Painters made their first victory in the opening of the Governors Cup at the expense of the determined San Mig Coffee who played without star forward and Gilas mainstay Marc Pingris. Rain or Shine also played without star players Gabe Norwood and Jeff Chan.

San Mig import Blakely posted 26 points and 20 rebounds, while Barroca added with 11 points, James Yap failed to impress his fans with just 8 points.
