Iran’s Key Players: (For the complete line-up click here)

Hamed Haddadi: One of the most recognized member of the Iranian basketball squad, an NBA veteran and one of Asia’s most dominant centers. In FIBA Asia 2013 he averaged with 17.5 points and 9.3 rebounds during the elimination round. In the playoff rounds Haddadi average increase to 18.5 points per games against Jordan and Chinese Taipei. He has never been challenged by any team leading his team with double digit wins against their opponent.

The 7-foot-2 NBA veteran Haddadi could cause a huge problems with the Philippines frontlines currently handled by De Ocampo, Aguilar and Pingris if Marcus Douthit will not suit up for tonight’s game.

Samad Nikkhah Bahrami: One of Iran’s frontliners inside the paint scored 12 points per game. With Bahrami’s presence inside the paint they dominated their opponent aside from Haddadi, he was well supported by forward Oshin Sahakia and Asghar Kardoust.

Iran’s Balanced and Complete Team:

The Iranian national basketball team have been playing around for the past few years, most of its players have already donned their national colors from numerous competitions, one of the most powerful weapon of Iran is that they got a complete team.

As their coach Mehmed Becirovic said, he doesn’t single out any one player for a good game because in a team, a real team, everybody plays a role in a win, even if the boxscore doesn’t show it. They have a talented roster but that great team mentality makes them even more dangerous.
