The national basketball team of Iran already released their official line-up for the FIBA Asia 2013 to be held this coming August 1-11, 2013 in Manila, Philippines. The Iran squad is considered as an early favorite in the competition that features some of the best basketball stars in Asia.
Iran is ranked no. 20 worldwide in FIBA Rankings behind the Asian leader China at no. 11. The team can boasts of NBA veteran and one of Asia’s toughest player Hamed Hadadi and Asia’s veteran campaigner Samad Nikkhah Bahrami.
The Iranians are considered also as one of the tallest team in the competition with a total of five players excluding Hadadi whose height is 2 meters and above. Iran is bracketed with rivals China, South Korea and Malaysia.
