The UST Growling Tigers came back from a previous loss and defeated the UP Fighting Maroons with the final score at 79-69 in a game held at the Araneta Coliseum on Wednesday, July 24, 2013.

The Tigers were playing with a balanced team effort despite missing the service of their superstar cager Jeric Teng who was out with an injury. UST’s Aljon Marion led the Tigers with 18 points off the bench and he was supported steadily with three other Tigers scoring in double-figures.
Tigers’ Kevin Ferrer scored with 16 points and 10 rebounds while Karim Abdul and Clark Bautista contributed with 14 and 12 points respectively. Reserve players Kim Lo added with 9 points, all in the third period.
The UP Fighting Maroons through the leadership of Marata who scored with 16 points fought hard but it was not enough to claim their first victory. The Maroons came closer with just 2:18 remaining in the fourth with 70-65 in scorecard but the Tigers bombarded them and finished strong with a 9-1 run.
The UST Growling Tigers improved their records to 4-2 while the UP Fighting Maroons is still at the bottom of the UAAP Season 76 Team standing with 0-6 win-loss card.
