The University of the East Red Warriors defeated the Ateneo Blue Eagles during the Wednesday match of the UAAP Season 76. The depending champion Ateneo Blue Eagles failed to win their second game after a successive losses this year. The game ended with the final score at 72-68 after overtime.
The UE also considered as a tough team this year after they won the Fil-Oli championship title but they failed to impressed with a 2-3 record including today’s win against the Blue Eagles.
The Ateneo Blue Eagles who made a statement during their last win against the Adamson Falcons on Sunday, July 14, 2012 by sporting a bald haircut during their only win so far this season. Ateneo has a 1-4 win-loss card on team standing.
With the UE Warriors victory, they climbed on team standing with a 2-3 win-loss card in the competition and bouncing back to reclaim their top 4 spot in the UAAP Season 76.
