The UST Growling Tigers defeated the DLSU Green Archers in the second game of the opening matches in the highly-anticipated Universities Athletic (–foul word(s) removed–)ociation of the Philippines (UAAP) Men’s basketball.

Jeric Teng of UST prevailed over his younger brother Jeron Teng who played for the La Salle Green Archers and topscored for UST’s overtime victory with the final score at 63-58.
The Tigers gave up an 11-point lead late in regulation but they were able to held the Archers’ comeback and forced an overtime. Jeric Teng also gave the UST a cushion when he scored a jumper putting them at the right direction for their title bid this year.
The older of the Teng brothers, Jeric Teng scored with a game-high 23 points in 43 minutes of playing time and he was well supported byKarim Abdul who scored with 17 points, 10 rebounds, 2 steals, and 3 blocks.
The DLSU Archers was led by Vostros and Perkins who scored with 13 points each.
