June 3, 2013 First Day of School According to DepEd

The Philippines Department of Education (DepEd) announces that the June 3, 2013 is the First Day of School in Academic Year 2013-2014. The education department of the country prepares various schools nationwide for the opening of cl(–foul word(s) removed–).

DepEd spearheaded Brigada Eskwela last May 20-24, 2013, they also launched Oplan Balik Eskwela and hired 60,000 new teachers before the opening of cl(–foul word(s) removed–) in June 3.

DepEd Secretary, Armin Luistro, the poorest cabinet member of the President’s cabinet member, has previously issued DepEd Order No. 10 on February 20, stating the school calendar for public schools for the AY 2013-2014.

The DepEd adds further that in the case of private schools, they may deviate from the June 3 cl(–foul word(s) removed–) opening, but should not be set later than the last day of August.

The education department also announced that their Oplan Balik Eskwela Information and Action Center started opening from May 27, up to June 7 which will also include Saturday’s and Sunday’s. The schedule will be open from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM, at the Bulwagan ng Karunungan, DepEd Complex, Meralco Avenue, Pasig City.
