Jessica Sanchez wowed the audience of her first-ever solo concert in Manila held at the Smart Araneta Coliseum for her rendition of some cover songs but the most intimate of all songs on her performance was her rendition of the popular Filipino ballad titled, “Ikaw.”
The 17-year-old Filipino-Mexican and American Idol second runner-up received a standing ovation from the audience as she performed a Tagalog song despite the fact that she can’t even speak Tagalog fluently.
The Original Pilipino Music, “Ikaw” was composed by George Canseco as the lyricist while Louie Ocampo made the music. It was originally sung by Sharon Cuneta and revived by Martin Nievera.
