  1. to: Ms Loida nicholas Lewis,
Greetings! we, the SUBIC ASBESTOSIS VICTIMS EFFORTS (SAVE) would like to make an appeal to you in behalf of the old, weak and sick former US NAVAL BASE EMPLOYEES who were afflicted with the illness Asbestosis due to prolong exposure to asbestos. They have filed already a case against those companies who supplied asbestos materials to shipyard and won the case. As a proof, they have been getting their claim’s payments before ( 1992 onwards) but unfortunately this was stopped due to reasons we do not know. Last year 2014 we tried sending email to him, our Atty in fact, ATTY JOSEPH M. VISSE, at Novato, California with telephone number (415) 408-3297 and he answered asking us to write letters addressed to the BOARD OF TRUSTEES to begin processing the claims. And we did what he told us to do in fact, we started getting our supplemental payment checks but unfortunately we lost communication with him again.
What we ask from you madam is to please help us locate ATTY JOSEPH M. VISSE, and help us to require him to be compensated in accordance with the Base Defense Act. These people had been ill and living in poverty and what thery wish is to get their claims paid before they die in sickness. These people have performed their job inside the US NAVAL BASE with utmost dedication and loyalty to the US government and they deserved to be paid. Almost half of their lives have been spent with the US government and yet they still get nothing?
We know very well that you madam, as our kababayan would not let this things to happen specially to these old and sick men and women whose one foot is already on the grave. They have been waiting for so long, the Philippine government has forgotten them and so, with your help I know the trust and confidence will be regain, so please madam Loida we are appealing to you and we fervently pray that you won’t ignore our letter and God is good that your name was given to us.
thank you very much. TO GOD BE THE GLORY!
