According to child psychologist Dr. Kairen Cullen, Toy Story is the film every child should watch before they reach nine and a half, based on the positive messages they sent out. The doctor selected 10 of the most essential movies for children based upon the 5,000 respondents.

The Toy Story’s significance is that it encourages kids to learn that individuals are different and have intrinsic worth while the Lion King taught children self belief and the benefit of facing up to challenges.

Dr Cullen said adds further that the lessons relate to emotions and relationship which lies at the heart of any good film. ‘When it comes to choosing what to watch, the best films should expand a child’s mind and demonstrate key life lessons in a positive and encouraging way.
