On Sunday, As to the White House, President Obama placed calls to the commanders to (–foul word(s) removed–)ert his condolences for those who p(–foul word(s) removed–)ed away. During the calls, the president again recognized the people of America for service members and their families.
Marine Gen. John Allen, top U.S. commander in Afghanistan and Army Lt. Gen. Joe Votel, the commander of Joint Special Operations Command was called by Obama. The President also had communicated with Navy Adm. Eric Olson, the head of U.S. Special Operations Command and Marine Gen. James Mattis, the head of U.S. Central Command.
Through Afghan Emb(–foul word(s) removed–)y, Afghan President Hamid Karzai “expressed his deepest sympathy and condolences” to Obama and to the families of those who were killed by the crash. Obama thanked Karzai and said that the lives who were sacrificed will never be forgotten as long as the U.S. and Afghanistan are both fighting against terrorists.
