She got the number one spot in the prestigious Most Powerful Celebrity in the world, and she also took the lead in the list for the best paid personalities in the under-30 category all by Forbes List.
And only one person can do and achieved that, the ever popular and controversial “Born This Way” singer Lady Gaga.
She is known for being an advocate as well as philanthropist but this time, a surprising news is in when a case was filed against her and other people and parties involved in the fund raising campaign and product marketing of wristbands for the victims of the earthquake that shook Japan last March.
On Friday, while Lady Gaga was having a benefit concert in Japan for the earthquake victims, in Michigan, a case was filed against her by the Michigan legal network 1800LAWFIRM.
The allegation for the case involves the proceeds from the sold bracelets, which the prosecutor says that it was not the whole sales or income that was given to the beneficiaries and the victims.
Furthermore, 1800LAWFIRM claims that there was an artificial inflated report to the total amount of donations.
The said wristbands with words read as “We Pray for Japan” cost $5 and the buyers got two colours to choose from, it’s either a red or a white.
1800LAWFIRM through Atty. Alyson Oliver stressed that despite filing a claim against the singer, they still commend all her (Lady Gaga’s) efforts to extend help for the victims in Japan, and they just want to be sure if the declaration of giving the entire proceeds to the victims was realized.
“Our intention via this lawsuit is to uncover any improprieties committed by Lady Gaga and appropriate the full donations (–foul word(s) removed–)umed to the victims in Japan”, thus he added.
As reported before, Stefani Germanotta popularly known as Lady Gaga had extended donation of $3 million for Japan’s earthquake victim through selling of the mentioned wristbands and other means.
