Mara Clara the remake of ABS-CBN’s most acclaimed telenovela have been nominated for the 2011 Banff World Media Awards. The telenovela will compete against the world’s best telenovela including Korea’s Bread, Love and Dreams which was also popular in the Philippines as the Baker King.
The Banff World Media Awards which was known popularly as the Rockies was an internationally-recognized awards program celebrating the very best in international television and digital media production. It was founded in 1978.
Mara Clara starring Kathryn Bernardo and Julia Montes have been dominating the primetime of ABS-CBN for the past few months having large following not only in the Philippines but also overseas. The show was nominated for the Rockies Award which will be held on June 12-15 at Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel.
Mara Clara was nominated for the Fiction Category under Soap Operas and Telenovelas.
