Azkals heartthrob known as Phil Younghusband told the actress Angelica Panganiban that he is not planning to enter the showbiz industry.
In Twitter, Angelica wrote a post which says that the football player has an indie film. She also emphasized her opinion by saying that Phil is a mere football player while saying that everyone seems to think of becoming actors and actresses as well. Because of this, many reactions fly from the fans of the Philippine football team.
The actress suggests via Twitter that while the football tournament is still on-going, Azkals players should primarily concentrate on their role for the country’s sake. They can be in the entertainment world as soon as their battle will be over.
With due respect, Phil replied to the actress through a television interview on March 5 by (–foul word(s) removed–)uring her that they will focus themselves with a goal of winning a football tournament over Mongolia. He also added that since everyone has the right to express their own opinion, he rightfully agrees that they should focus on their upcoming games.
Clarifying about the indie film issue, Phil explained that it was produced last year which was before the Azkals campaigned for the Asian Football Confederation (AFC). He further described that the film aims to promote the game football to inspire the youth especially those from the public schools.
Phil also clarifies that through his life he was already engaged on playing football even when he was only 3 years old. In fact, he was just amazed to know that “football in the Philippines will be a way of entering showbiz”.
The defending fans of the Azkals urged Phil to answer the issue brought by Angelica. Indeed, the football heartthrob is very grateful for the support of the fans. However, Phil still warns about those who try to post Tweets that seem to abuse their rights on making opinions knowing that Angelica was bombarded with a lot of negative remarks.
At present, Azkals team of the Philippines are heading their way to Japan for a training so as to prepare themselves for game 2 against Mongolia in the 2011 AFC Challenge Cup.
