Wikileaks has latest disclosure on a nuclear smuggling in the Philippines that was made last 2007 about the sale of Uraniun. Wikileaks just release this statement on February 2, 2011.

Uranium a very dense, radioactive metallic element, naturally occurring in most rocks, soil, and even in the ocean has been found under the Philippine territory. Uranium is a one of the main components used to create a nuclear weapon.

Wikileaks stated that Emb(–foul word(s) removed–)y’s Foreign Service National Investigator Unit (FSNI) was contacted by a person who found the Uranium and negotiating it to sell for profit overseas.

The 5-6 Uranium ‘bricks’ was found in an underwater wreck with the help of Philippine divers. There is actually a nine photos attached in an email received by the Emb(–foul word(s) removed–)y of the alleged radioactive material.

The Philippine and UK authorities are not informed of the selling of the said material. Bagong Alyansang Makabayan (Bayan), a Philippine-based militant group, is also alarmed and raised concerns about this material capable of making a nuclear weapon.

“This is quite alarming. We are a country that does not allow nuclear weapons, nor do we operate any nuclear power plant. We can only think of a few American entities that are nuclear-capable. These are the US troops. The question is, what are the US forces doing with nuclear material in our country?” said Bayan secretary general Renato M. Reyes, Jr.
