Jake Cuenca, Jaclyn Jose And Sid Lucero Received International Award
Filipino actors and actresses has now been making names internationally namely Jaclyn Jose who brought home the bacon as the Best Actress at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival for her “Ma’Rosa”, Sid Lucero also bags the Best actor award at 19th Los Angeles Comedy Festival for the film “TOTO”, and Jake Cuenca who also clinched the Best Actor award at the 2016 World Cinema Festival Brazil for his performance in the movie “Mulat”.
The Philippine film industry is very proud and honored for these veteran actors who gained honor internationally promoting Filipino film as world class.
Ma’Rosa which was directed by Brillante Mendoza who is an award-winning director was very overwhelmed for Jaclyn’s achievement. Meanwhile, the actress went very emotional as she delivered her acceptance speech.
“I’m at a loss for words! I am so surprised and moved. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all the Jury members. I thank the director Brillante Mendoza, whose instructions I simply followed,” she said.
Jaclyn also offered the award to his colleagues and to the Filipino people.
“I would also like to share this recognition to all the Filipinos who are here now… to my countrymen, to the Philippines,” she added.
Sid Lucero, the son of Jaclyn Jose also received a recognition as Best Actor for his role as “Toto Estares” who characterized perseverance for his American dream. The film “Toto” also won as “Best Foreign Film” at the LA Comedy Festival.
Jake Cuenca, aside from winning as 2016 World Cinema Festival Brazil Best Actor, the film “Mulat” which is directed by Diane Ventura, also bagged the Best Narrative Feature Award.
