The kapamilya star and box-office actor Xian Lim was made to react on being the replacement of award-winning actor John Lloyd Cruz in the upcoming TV series with working title “Bridges.”
In a press conference for his upcoming movie “Past Tense,” Xian Lim said that being the second choice is not an issue for him. He also admitted that he feels pressured, knowing that he will be replacing John Lloyd Cruz’s role.
“Yes, of course, there’s added pressure knowing that it came from him [John Lloyd]. But I can’t really speak on his behalf. I’m just really thankful and I’m excited and I will give it my all to make everything work,” he said.
The production unit Star Creatives previously announced that John Lloyd Cruz will join the other kapamilya stars Jericho Rosales and Maja Salvador in the upcoming TV series. However, it was not pushed through.
John Lloyd Cruz said in his previous interviews that he cannot work for the series since he has yet to renew his contract with his home network, ABS-CBN.
During the interview, Xian Lim also said that he is grateful for the support of his co-stars. He also feels honored to work with Jericho Rosales and Maja Salvador.
Meanwhile, Xian Lim is currently promoting his newest movie “Past Tense” with the country’s “Comedy Queen” Ai-Ai delas Alas and Kim Chiu. Directed by Mae Cruz-Alviar, the film will be released in theaters nationwide on November 26, 2014.
