The Philippine National Men’s Basketball Team, Gilas Pilipinas made a successful first win on their current Lithuanian camp after they defeated Klaipedos Neptunas with the final score at 81-76.
Klaipedos Neptunas is just one of the few ball clubs that the Filipinos will be facing in preparation for their FIBA Asia stint to be hosted by the Philippines this coming August 2013.
The game was held at the Svyturio Arena in Klaipeda on Thursday against the team which was ranked as the country’s fourth most popular ball club. According to Gilas coach Chot Reyes, they are now experimenting new ways to use the team’s advantages to the fullest.
Coach Chot Reyes did not elaborate further with the details of their game against a Lithuanian ballclub. The Gilas pool is composed of Marcus Douthit, JunMar Fajardo, Marc Pingris, Jimmy Alapag, Jayson Castro, Gabe Norwood, Jeff Chan, LA Tenorio, Ranidel De Ocampo, Larry Fonacier, Gary David, Japeth Aguilar and Beau Belga.
