One of the most popular directors in the Philippine filmmaking industry is director Paul Soriano. He made a lot of films that really hooked the viewers with their content and his excellence in filmmaking.

Paul Soriano Personal Background

Paul Soriano was born on October 17, 1981. His father is director and pastor Jeric Soriano and he is the grandson of actor Nestor de Villa. The filmmaker was raised in Los Angeles

He was eight years old when Paul moved to Manila and spent his high school years at the International School Manila. He flew back to the United States in college and attended De Anza College in California and Santa Clara University where he pursued a course in making films.

After graduating from college, Paul moved back to Manila. He started his filmmaking career.

Paul Soriano Filmmaking Career

Paul directed many of the prominent films in the industry including A Journey Home in 2009, Thelma in 2011, and Kid Kulafu in 2015. He was also the filmmaker behind Dukot in 2016.

In 2012, Paul was awarded by FAP Awards as the Best Director for “Thelma”. He also won Digital Movie Director of the Year for the said movie in the same year.

Paul Soriano-Toni Gonzaga

In June 2015, Paul Soriano married ABS-CBN actress, singer and television host Toni Gonzaga. Before the Toni Gonzaga-Paul Soriano wedding took place, the two (2) celebrities were in a boyfriend-girlfriend relationship for 8 years. Their love story is undeniably an inspiration to a lot of people. They now have a four-year-old son named Severiano Elliot or Seve.
