Toni Fowler Criticized For Selling Prescription Medicine Tirzepatide

Toni Fowler shared a post that earned criticism

Content creator Toni Fowler was criticized for selling Tirzepatide injection through her Instagram page.

The said medicine is known as a treatment for type 2 diabetes and helps keep the weight off in patients with obesity caused by certain conditions. This is available only with the doctor’s prescription.

However, a netizen on Reddit got worried about the recent Instagram Story that Toni shared. It was a photo of Tirzepatide injection packages, and her caption stated that these were Mounjaro (Only FDA-certified tirzepatide).

Also included in Toni Fowler’s post was the wholesale price of the product, which starts at P5,000 per pen with a minimum order of 10 pens.

She even said that these are all authentic from Japan with laboratory certification. The content creator included a WhatsApp number for contact.

In another post on her IG Story, Toni shared her dance video and flaunted that she lost weight through this product; from 96 kg, she now weighs 60 kg.

The netizen who posted this on Reddit under Pinoy Vlogger stressed that Toni had no right to sell this product since it is a prescription medicine, mentioning the FDA Advisory No. 2022-0108, which prohibits the promotion of prescription drugs on social media.

“Per FDA Advisory No. 2019-154, online selling of medicine is not permitted unless it’s an extension of a physical, FDA licensed pharmacy. Selling wholesale via WhatsApp (as seen in first photo) is a major legal red flag,” the netizen also stressed.

In the comment section of this post, several netizens also criticized the content creator, and some pointed out that this should be reported to the authorities. Here are some comments.

As of this writing, Toni Fowler has not yet released a statement about this matter.
