The mother of Jennylyn Mercado who was an overseas Filipino worker (OFW) employed in Dubai then flew home following the incident. Unexpectedly, what she did was post bail on her partner who hurt her daughter.

Jennylyn spent her high school years as a student of the Augustinian Abbey School in Las Pinas. In 2003, she joined the GMA-7 reality show StarStruck and finished as one of the winners of the program together with Mark Herras.
Jennylyn and Mark won Php 1 million and got exclusive contracts with the Kapuso network. It opened her to a lot of opportunities and she is now one of the in-demand Kapuso stars who did a lot of hit projects.
