Jennylyn Anne Pineda Mercado in real-life, the Kapuso actress was born on May 15, 1987 to a beauty consultant in a duty-free store. She has bad experiences with her stepfather which led him to jail. Her mother was working abroad then and she immediately went home to post bail for Jennylyn Mercado’s stepfather.
After the incident, the aunt of Jennylyn took her and raised her. She was legally adopted by her aunt and she grew up in Paranaque, Metro Manila.
Jennylyn’s Showbiz Career
Jennylyn started her career as a recording artist. In 2003, she joined GMA-7’s reality show StarStruck. She and Mark Herras won Php 1,000,000.00 and got exclusive contracts from the Kapuso network.
Her StarStruck victory led the actress to several opportunities in the showbiz industry. She was part of Encantadia, Paano Ba Ang Mangarap, Super Twins, Gumapang Ka sa Lusak, and Ikaw Sana among others.
The recent project of Jennylyn was the Pinoy adaptation of the Korean soap opera Descendants of the Sun. She top-billed the Kapuso TV series with actor Dingdong Dantes.
Jennylyn Mercado-Dennis Trillo
Jennylyn Mercado is in a relationship with her fellow Kapuso actor Dennis Trillo. They dated in 2010 but the Dennis Trillo-Jennylyn Mercado relationship ended in 2011. They worked together again a few years after their breakup and rekindled their romance.

It is no secret to the public that the actress has a son with her ex-boyfriend, actor Patrick Garcia. Jennylyn Mercado’s son with the actor is “Alex Jazz” and he is living with her.
