Actress Ruffa Gutierrez shares her reflections on motherhood as her daughters are about to mark major milestones in their lives.
The lives that celebrities allow the public to see through their social media pages are just a small fraction of their truth and reality. Recently, in an Instagram post, actress Ruffa Gutierrez opened up about her reflections and realizations as someone who raised her daughters as a single mother with the help of her family.
Lorin and Venice are her daughters with Turkish businessman Yilmaz Bektas. When they separated, she brought her daughters with her and returned to the Philippines.
Looking back at all the years that passed, she reflected on resilience and gratitude from her emotional journey of raising her two daughters and witnessing the fruits of her sacrifices.
She recalled meeting someone who expressed admiration for her strength, saying they were amazed she still carried so much light despite everything she had been through. The words caused her emotions to stir up and prompted her to look back with honesty and gratitude.
“Raising them on my own, with the help of my family, was never easy. There were so many challenges, sacrifices, sleepless nights, and tears. But through the love and support of the people who stood by me, we made it,” she wrote.
She is proud of herself for not allowing the pain to make her bitter and instead paving the way to make her stronger, wiser, and even more grateful. Those experiences shaped her into someone stronger, wiser, and more appreciative of life’s blessings.
Today, her daughters are thriving.
Lorin is graduating soon from Pepperdine University with a degree in advertising, while Venice is a sophomore studying political science. She wrote, “Watching them grow into the amazing young women they are today reminds me that every hardship was worth it.”
