The former WBO World Bantamweight champion John Riel Casimero tries to sell his WBO belt to Boss Toyo for P1.2 million.
John Riel Casimero, a former World Boxing Organization (WBO) World Bantamweight champion who is popularly known as “Angas ng Pinas,” recently appeared on the online program “Pinoy Pawnstars,” hosted by businessman Jayson Luzadas, also known as Boss Toyo.
During the show, Casimero offered to sell his WBO championship belt to Luzadas. The WBO stripped Casimero of his title, which he had held for three years after he failed to defend it against Paul Butler.
However, Casimero remained optimistic about his future and said he would get another championship belt from other world champions in his upcoming matches.
Casimero offered to sell the belt for P1.2 million, but Luzadas negotiated the price down to P400,000. While Luzadas initially believed that P1.2 million was a fair offer given Casimero’s status as a former world champion, he later decided to try to get the price lowered to make a profit from the purchase.
Despite the lowered offer, Casimero refused to sell his belt to Luzadas. However, Luzadas promised to buy the belt for P1.2 million if Casimero wins his upcoming match in May.
In addition to the championship belt, Luzadas expressed interest in buying Casimero’s boxing shorts, and he offered to purchase them for P100,000. Casimero ultimately agreed to sell his shorts to Luzadas.
