A former ABS-CBN executive has this advice for Liza Soberano
The recent statement made by actress Liza Soberano on Kapuso actress Bea Alonzo’s vlog elicited a reaction from former ABS-CBN executive Ethel Espiritu.
Liza’s trending statement did not end in her This Is Me vlog in which she talked about her experiences in the entertainment industry for 13 years. Although there are many people who viewed this as bravery and courage to take a risk when it comes to what she wants to do with her career, there were also those who interpreted this as being ungrateful.
In a recent lie detector challenge vlog of Bea, Liza answered questions about her career and personal life.
One of the trending statements that she did during the vlog was about the blockbuster hit movie Hello, Love, Goodbye which featured Kathryn Bernardo and Alden Richards. Liza Soberano said that it was first offered to her and Enrique Gil but they were doing Bagani at that time.
The actress said that she asked ABS-CBN to save that project for her and Quen but she learned that it was offered to the actor but her leading lady would be Kathryn. Liza admitted that this made her worry about the future of the LizQuen love team.
That statement that she made garnered different reactions. Some said that she was being selfish and inconsistent. It is because she stated that she wanted to get out of the love team but felt threatened when Quen was supposed to be paired with another leading lady.
Following that vlog, Ethel Espiritu shared her thoughts on Twitter. The former ABS-CBN executive that the actress should think first before opening her mouth. For Espiritu, the effort to talk about career growth has gone wrong.
For the former TV executive, the good intention was there but the message was delivered incorrectly. “Let’s not be careless lest be misunderstood,” Espiritu shared. She also pointed out that if Liza wanted to clear things out, she should’ve not chosen to speak on Bea’s vlog. Bea also came from Star Magic but now decided to transfer to GMA.
The former ABS-CBN executive also pointed out that showbiz is a small world and people working in it will somehow meet again someday, somewhere.
