Liza Soberano Revealed She Sacrificed Her Freedom and Happiness
Actress Liza Soberano revealed in her recent video that she sacrificed herself, her freedom, and her happiness in her previous career.
The former Kapamilya actress went popular on social media as she explained the reason behind her abrupt career change. Liza recently deactivated her YouTube channel and Instagram account.
Many individuals were unclear as to whether she had simply archived all of her earlier posts or had actually wiped them altogether. It was confirmed that her post had not been hacked when she made it. Her social media activity was actually a rebranding. A sign that you are now pursuing a different career route.
Soberano said in her 14-minute video that she had no independence during her career as an actor in the country. She rose to become one of the country’s most popular actors before leaving the country to pursue a career in Hollywood.
“I’ve been in six feature films, over 500 episodes of teleserye, and have only really dabbled into three main genres romance, comedy, and drama. Since I was 16, I had only really worked side by side with one main co-star, with the same production company, rotating around the same three directors. During all those years, I was never really asked for my input, my thoughts, my ideas,” the actress stated.
“I’ve sacrificed myself, I’ve sacrificed my freedom, I’ve sacrificed my happiness to present Liza Soberano to the world, and I think I’ve earned the right to finally be me,” she added.
Netizens couldn’t help but wonder if Liza was moaning about the treatment she had from her former manager, Ogie Diaz, who recently voiced his grief over his former talent’s decisions. Ogie previously stated that he did everything possible to help Soberano’s career success.
“Nanghihinayang lang ako kasi pinaghirapan naming lahat ito kung nasaan siya nandun. Gusto ko na lang unawain si Liza kung ano ang gusto niya, kung ano ang makakapagpasaya sa kanya. Pero syempre nanghihinayang ako dun sa mga nakakawalang proyekto kay Liza. Hindi rin pinalad ang ABS-CBN na gawin ng Lizquen kasi tumanggi sila.” the talent manager said.
Diaz now refers to Soberano as a “K-pop devotee” because of her images with South Korean celebrities, despite her fame as an actress. As of writing, Diaz has yet to react to the remark of his former talent.
